Common Means, Belonging To Everyone Equally.
Belonging to everyone equally is one way the word “common” is defined. The word “common” is used to describe salvation in Jude 3. We are to contend for the “common” salvation.
In what way is Salvation “common?”
Everyone needs Salvation because all have sinned.
Romans 3:9, 23 KJV
What then? are we better than they ? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Salvation is available to all because Christ tasted of death for every man.
Hebrews 2:9 KJV
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
Salvation is offered to all.
Acts 2:19-21 reads, And I will cause wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below – blood and fire and clouds of smoke. The sun will become dark, and the moon will turn blood red before that great and glorious day of the Lord arrives. But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Mark 16:15 KJV
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Acts 10:34-35 KJV
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
Salvation is offered on the same terms to each human being.
Romans 3:28-30 KJV
Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.
Acts 15:8-9 KJV
And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
All receive the same benefits and blessings. It is like Revelation 22: 17 reads, “…And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.”
The gospel is for all.
But it is of no benefit to those who reject it. There is no way to overemphasize the urgency of coming to Christ and partaking of the common salvation. Come as you are, there is power In The
