Universalism is the belief that everyone will be saved and go to Heaven.
If you pay attention to what people say when you ask them, where will you spend eternity when you die ? Heaven or hell? Most will reply in Heaven. If you continue to probe, and ask them how do you know ? Most will say, because I’m a good person. God is so good. God is full of Grace, full of Mercy, and Loves us so much, that I don’t believe God will send people to hell when they die. God is not that cruel of a God. God is Love. Most people believe God will allow everyone, everywhere into Heaven to live with Him forever. That everything will take care of itself in the end and all people will live eternally with Him. Therefore, we can live however we want, do whatever we want, and be free in Christ, because God is Love.
That is the description of Universalism.
Universalism is a cult of deception and lies, straight out of hell, and from satan himself, the father of lies. Universalism is ignorance and a lack of knowledge of what Gods Word says.
According to scripture, everyone will not make it into Heaven. In fact, the Bible says in Matthew 7:13-14 NKJV
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
There are many people today who hold to universal salvation and believe that all people, no matter what they have done in life, eventually end up in heaven.
Universalism is a false Gospel.
Perhaps it is the thought of men and women living a life of eternal torment and punishment in hell, that causes the Universalist to reject the teaching of Scripture on this issue.
For some it is an over-emphasis on the love and compassion of God and the neglect of the Righteousness and Justice of God that leads them to believe God will have mercy on every living soul. God is who He says He is, and He will do what He says He will do according to His Word, God cannot lie, and God does not change.
The Scriptures are very clear and teach that lost and unredeemed people will spend eternity in hell.
You must be born again.
Matthew 25:41, 46 NKJV
“Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
First of all, the Bible is very clear that lost unredeemed people will dwell forever in hell. Jesus’ own words confirm that the time spent in heaven for the redeemed will last as long as that of the unredeemed in hell.
Matthew 25:46 says, “Then they [the unsaved] will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous (saved) to eternal life.”
According to this verse, the punishment of the unsaved in hell, is just as eternal as the life of the saved in Heaven. Some believe that those in hell will eventually cease to exist, but the Lord Himself confirms that it will last forever. Matthew 25:41 and Mark 9:44 describe hell as “eternal fire” and “unquenchable fire.”
Mark 9:43-48 NKJV
If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched- where ‘Their worm does not die And the fire is not quenched.’ And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame, rather than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched- where ‘Their worm does not die, And the fire is not quenched.’ And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire- where ‘Their worm does not die And the fire is not quenched.’
How does one avoid this unquenchable fire?
Many people believe that all roads, all religions and beliefs, lead to heaven, or they consider that God is so full of love and mercy that He will allow all people into heaven.
God is certainly full of Love, Grace, and Mercy. It was these qualities that led Him to send His Son, Jesus Christ, to earth to die on the cross for us. To send us a Saviour, Jesus Christ His Son. Heaven and Salvation is available to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, but not everyone will get saved, according to scripture.
Acts 4:12 says, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name (Jesus) under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”
“There is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus’ (1 Timothy 2:5).
In John 14:6, Jesus says, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
If we choose to reject God’s Son, we do not meet the requirements for salvation (John 3:16, 18, 35-36).
John 3:18 NKJV
“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
John 3:35-36 NKJV
The Father loves the Son (Jesus), and has given all things into His hand. He who believes in the Son (Jesus) has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son (Jesus) shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”
Jude 1:14-15 NKJV
Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”
With verses such as these, it becomes clear that universalism and universal salvation are unbiblical beliefs. Universalism directly contradicts what Scripture says and teaches.
While many people accuse Christians of being intolerant, critical, and “exclusive,” it is important to remember that these are the words of Jesus Christ Himself. I don’t know about you, but that’s who I’m going to listen to. Jesus.
Christians did not develop these ideas on their own. Christians are simply stating what the Lord has already said in His Word.
People choose to reject the message of Jesus because they do not want to face up to and give up their sin and admit that they need the Lord to save them.
To say that those who reject God’s provision of salvation through His Son will be saved, is to belittle the holiness and justice of God and negate the need of Jesus’ sacrifice on our behalf.
What the Holy Scriptures Say:
John 10:1 Verily, verily, (Truly, Truly) I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
John 10:7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
8) All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
9) I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10) The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly.
11) I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
1 John 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
2 John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Isaiah 33:22 KJV
For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; he will save us.
James 4:12 KJV
There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
Choose this day whom you will serve.
Jude 1:24-25 KJV
Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
Remember this, in the end, Jesus will separate the sheep from the goats, the wheat from the tares, and the good fish from the bad fish. The redeemed from the unredeemed. The saved from the lost. Amen.
Galatians 4:16 KJV
Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?
God Bless you,
Until Christ Returns
