What Will People Think ?
“Am I trying to please man?”
Often we are to concerned about what other people will think and this robs us and keeps us from the pleasures of our freedom in Christ. We do or don’t do certain things because of a fear that we’ll be judged by others and what they think about our actions. But standing firm in our freedom in Christ means resisting that fear. In Galatians, Paul wrote, “am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ” (Galatians 1:10).
If you’re going to experience the joy of your freedom in Christ, you have to decide whether you’ll pursue and please God or try to please people.
